JT Teases New Melodic Track: A Departure from City Girls Persona

If someone had told me that JT was venturing into the melodic realm, I would have been the first to roll my eyes. But surprisingly, I actually liked what I heard. It's a departure not only in sound but also in messaging from her City Girls persona. In the teaser, JT softly sings, "I wanna become loud about you, I wanna tell my friends about you, something about the way you make me feel." This is not another song aimed at fck niggas. Instead, it's a soft, whispering ode to a man before he turns into one, capturing that moment he makes your heart skip a beat, and you wanna tell the world about him. We've all been there. It's relatable, and the melody has been stuck in my head all morning.

Last night, JT, formerly of the City Girls, surprised her fans by sharing a sneak peek of an unreleased song, where she trades in her sharp rap verses for a more melodic sound.

If someone had told me that JT was venturing into the melodic realm, I would have been the first to roll my eyes. But surprisingly, I actually liked what I heard. This short clip makes me feel like I'm listening to Jatavia rather than JT. I appreciate this juxtaposition because, amidst the gender wars dominating social media, it's refreshing to witness female artists, especially in Hip Hop, shift focus away from 'dusties' and highlight the 'unicorns' in their music.

This must be my current vibe because the only song I listen to off Doja Cat's "Scarlet" album is "Can't Wait," which celebrates the desire to cater to a partner who is bringing you joy.

I'm waiting for JT to release the whole song, the version with less autotune, and hopeful the complete track lives up to the promise of the snippet.

Listen to the hook on "what I need" by Megan and come back and listen to this. Sounds a tad bit familiar it's alright
