I watched the "Woman" video by Doja Cat, and here is my quickie review.
Video Treatment: Teyana Taylor, playing the Queen of Egypt, is alerted that someone is trying to seize her throne. She tells her spy to take her to them. As Teyana sits at the table with her enemies, she conjures up Doja Cat, who plays a Sekhmet, which is a warrior goddess. Doja is there to protect the Queen.
Throughout the video, Doja gives different looks and reminds us that she can dance. Even though I wouldn't say there were any "Wow" moments, the choreography was my fave part, especially in the water. The one part I hated was the tacky Beats By Dre product placement, but I get it, bills gotta be paid.
Did Doja Cat Copy Ganja Burn?
Now, did she copy Nicki Minaj's "Ganja Burn?" I would say...NAWWWW. I see the influence in certain scenes, just like I see Michael Jackson's "Remember The Time" influence in the video, but ALL artists and their creative teams are inspired by something or someone. There is no copycat shit going on. But, considering what I have seen STANs call "copying," I wouldn't be surprised if that narrative was pushed.
Overall, while I wasn't blown away, it's a solid video that keeps her as one of the artists to keep watching when it comes to music videos.
What do y'all think about the video and did Doja Cat copy Ganja Burn?

Doja has always stated she was a barb & influenced by Nicki, so the Ganja Burn inspiration is not far fetched & is evident. it’a also clear she has a great creative team, choreographer & label that’s putting up big budgets for her. Republic seems to throw all of their support behind Taylor, Ariana & Drake but then again Nicki is signed to Young Money so maybe they’re the reason she isn’t getting the big budgets she needs. Great video tho, labels & artists are starting to see how dope visuals are helping push streams & longevity.
I mean is he lying, when it comes to Pop Rap only. She is nowhere near the rapper Nicki is. She blends Pop and Rap together better than Nicki did in my opinion.
