Tahiry Details The Terrozing Abuse She Endured While Dating Podcaster Joe Budden

Tahiry Jose and Joe Budden

During a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Tahiry Jose star of Love & Hip Hop New York detailed the terrorizing abuse she endured while dating podcaster/media personality Joe Budden. The topic came up when Jason Lee asked Tahiry about remarks reality TV star Tami Roman made about the viral video showing her being attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Vado, on an episode of Marriage Bootcamp. Tami Roman was blaming Tahiry for instigating the attack.

Tahiry responded by saying that Tami Roman should know how editing works on reality TV with her

background. She explained that Vado had been "trying to take her there," even though he knew what she had been through. This was when Jason Lee inquired about whether her previous relationship involving domestic violence was with Joe Budden. After a pause and some hesitation, Tahiry told her painful story about the abuse she received at the hands of Budden.

Tahiry said, "I've been beaten before. That relationship left me with a fractured rib. Uh...a broken nose because someone was sending him a message, and I used to always say, "stop beef'n, " I'm out there still working. Um, and he hit me on the nose. He pushed me down a flight of stairs. I remember having to talk him out of let'n me go that day. I remember having a plan to leave because the reason why he was so upset because I was already leaving. Um, looking through my phone and sh*t. But, I had already told him to give me two weeks to pack up my things, and he agreed to it, then he started looking through my phone. Next thing I know, I got woken up from him dragging me from my ankle."

Also, Tahiry mentioned how Joe spoke on the Vado incident on The Joe Budden Podcast, where he allegedly tried to paint her as a violent person. She said something very revealing about Joe's behavior, "Why am I not with you physically, but mentally you're trying to keep me in this prison?"

Tahiry told Jason Lee that Joe Budden actually rapped about abusing her in one of his songs. I researched and found a song called "Downfall," off his 2011 Mood Muzik 4.5: The Worst Is Yet To Come. On that track, he says:

Since Tahiry is not the first ex-girlfriend to accuse Joe Budden of being violent, some have attributed that

verse to another ex, Esther Baxter. Esther Baxter alleged that Joe had sat on her stomach, causing her to have a miscarriage. In a pitiful attempt to defend his actions, Joe Budden told The Breakfast Club, " I rush home. She is in bed, and I tell her to, "wake it up, what are we going to do." He admits to dragging Esther out of bed, but because it was on "plush" carpet that made it OK. There seems to be a pattern with Joe Budden waking women up and dragging them out of bed.

This explains why Joe decided to be a foot doctor after the story about Megan Thee Stallion being shot by Tory Lanez was reported. These are the types of men in Hip Hop media that are celebrated. These men do their commentary/reporting from the lense of an abuser. Remember that before you run with their opinions when it comes to female artists.

@LilyThurs, people asking why she didn't say this before are idiots. Joe Budden has a known history of abusing women because she and other have spoken out before. I think this is the first time she went into detail about the abuse. But, this is not her first time speaking out. This is the first time when a woman can speak out actually be heard.

@yaya yes we do they Eventually tell on themselves What bothers me is the women in the comments calling these victims liars etc. Then say dumb shit like “why didn’t she say this before” “she clout chasing” or better yet “she’s taller then him I don’t blame him.”

@Lilythurs, exactly! What makes this different is that Joe is a media guy. He creates the narratives that the sheep believe. So, he will find ways to defend abuse because of his own past. He is not the only one, but I think people need to pay attention to who the narrative makers are and their own agendas.

Tahiry broke my heart. I can tell this still affects her.

It’s not a shocker just look how he talks to and about women. We need to start believing/defending women in the industry because we see this too often and let it get swept under the rug!
