Today, Tory Lanez's lawyer, Jose Baez, posted on his Instagram stories that Tory Lanez, not he or his co-counsel Matthew Barhoma, will be releasing "information about the DNA in his case that gave false & misleading information to his jury."
This struggle defense has me cackling.
First, let's rewind. On April 17th, there was a hearing, which Baez did not attend in person, to argue for a new trial. However, it got delayed because the DEFENSE wanted time to add to their ridiculous 84-page motion after reviewing the D.A.'s quick and concise clapback to their arguments. So now, the judge will decide on this motion on May 8th.
Since this delay, Tory Lanez and his team suddenly are prepared to argue for a new trial, but only on Instagram. They just can't wait to present this DNA information at the next hearing. It must come out today! and Tory must deliver it. Has Tory Lanez become a DNA expert while wasting away in his L.A. County Jail cell?
I also find it odd that the focus is on DNA when at trial; it was presented as "inconclusive," which did not help the D.A. or the defense. Plus, Tory's defense had its own DNA expert, who had the opportunity to dispute any testimony they felt was wrong. The jury has the right to decide which expert they believe. Instead, the defense acts like they never got a chance to present their side of the case.

The fact that Baez nor Barhoma want to be the ones presenting this information stands out, considering they strike me as men who love the bright lights, and if this is information that can #FreeToryLanez, wouldn't they be front and center at a press conference?
Baez is making a money grab and takes this as a joke. That is why he posted on his story only with that music in the background knowing people will talk. This is "ROC NATION WILL CRUMBLE" pt2.
What are y'all thoughts. Is this a good strategy or just a PR stunt because they know most people do not understand DNA?

I don't know if Tory Lanez plans to sing about the DNA, but this is looking like a rollout for a song. I can't wait for the new trial to be denied and we get to sentencing.

Tory Lanez continues to be a liar as he has started putting out information he thinks warrants a new trial before the 6PM time he set. Anyways, he posted a report about the DNA...ok. I mean no one said his DNA was found on the gun. It was inconclusive...
I hope this is in his motion and not just for us.
Where is the evidence on Kelsey? Explain that phone call. That is contributed more to the verdict than the DNA stuff.

This audio did not help. Also, I do not remember the DNA being a pivotal piece of evidence in why he was found guilty. He is desperate to avoid doing the appeals process because it takes forever and with his case probably hopeless.

It's another PR stunt and honestly after watching baez interview with TMZ when he first got hired....I def think he knows there isn't much he can do unless tory is granted a new trial. Most people don't understand DNA so ofc they're using that to garner attention. Chile. I'm just glad meg isn't hiding she's out
