Debunking Shit
Tory Lanez's plans of getting a new trial have given his "supporters" a new false sense of hope to lay their conspiracy theories on, and with that comes new narratives that need debunking, especially with some of Megan Thee Stallion's little ponies being gullible, dumb, and STOOPID enough to not only believe these headlines...oops, I mean head-LIES, but help spread them.
So with that said, I want to start with a narrative that was being pushed right after Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion by bloggers still struggling to understand the meaning of "reasonable doubt." A narrative that I now hear lawyers repeating.
For the record, I am not a lawyer, so I do not claim to know the law better than them; only better than Lawyers For Workers; however, these are not California lawyers, so I suspect they did not bother reading our penal code for 245PC - Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon.
So, the false narrative I am speaking of is that Tory Lanez was found guilty on gun charges, not for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
This narrative baffles me because there is no California penal code for "Shooting Megan Thee Stallion." So what charge did they expect, and don't say attempted murder? Megan's statement of "Dance, Bitch!" shows there was probably no INTENT to kill her, which is an element needed for that charge.
So, what happens if you shoot at someone but you are not trying to kill them. Instead, you may want to wound or scare them, and you hit them directly or cause bullet fragments to enter their body?
Every time someone gets wounded, it is not attempted murder or bust.
So, that leaves us with assault with a deadly weapon AKA 245PC. In summary, PC 245 in California is an "assault upon the person of another with a deadly weapon." 245(b), which is what Tory Lanez was found guilty of is "Any person who commits an assault upon the person of another with a semiautomatic firearm..."
So, in this case, who is the "person" who committed an ASSAULT upon the "person of another?" Even the word assault in the title of Tory's highest charge should have given people a hint that it was about something he did toward another person. You cannot assault a street? You cannot assault an SUV? You cannot assault a mailbox?
So, YES! Tory Lanez Was Found Guilty Of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion and saying anything different is lying or being ignorant to California penal code definitions.
*Assault is a PERSON CRIME, like Homicide, Rape, and Robbery, not a property crime.
** If you are a lawyer or have a different take, let's debate.
Speak, Heart, Share...Thanks!
Never knew there were so many people that don't understand basic law. And be on social media loud, proud, wrong and sounding ignorant.
