WHEN PROTECT BLACK FEMALE RAPPERS GETS LOST IN TRANSLATION

When we say "Protect Black Women," that means from anyone who tries to harm them. That is not a men-only rule. Black women should be protected from being attacked by other women in the industry too. Nicki Minaj should have to risk breaking a nail beating this girl's ass so that y'all can hear Cardi get mopped by two rappers instead of one.

I recently wrote a piece called "Who Protects The Black Female Rapper When Their Abuser is Another Male Artist," where I called out the culture for not protecting Black female rappers when they became victims of violence by men in the industry. This became a hot topic after Megan Thee Stallion was shot allegedly by Tory Lanez.

Discussions around that incident led many in the culture to reexamine how Black females in Hip Hop are often left unprotected. Many appeared to agree that we, as a culture, need to protect Black women much better. When we hashtag "Protect Black Women," that has to extend to female rappers too.

So, I am at a loss when I continue to see posts like the one above that is essentially telling Nicki Minaj to help out the woman who attempted to cause her bodily harm. Not only that, but Cardi B also stated she has no regrets and would do it again. Cardi B never faced

any consequences for the attack and was, in fact, celebrated by the same culture that made jokes about Megan Thee Stallion being shot. Like Megan, Nicki Minaj had to come out and make a case for why she did not deserve to be attacked. Now, you got people hashtagging "unity" when you should be hashtagging "apologize?"

So since apparently something got lost in translation, let's try this again.

PROTECT BLACK FEMALE RAPPERS FROM MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN, DOG, CATS...

Yup it’s protect everybody else but Nicki Minaj! Like everyone doesn’t even care that she is pregnant it’s still let’s continue to drag her no matter what! Like why isn’t there an outrage when meek said all that stuff to her on twitter and come to find out she was pregnant that time but nope it’s Nicki was a bully and started it! Even seen this today on twitter the top comment is a guy saying she’s going to have a miscarriage and laughing about it! Wtf only because this is Nicki no one cares!!

These people are just trying to keep this girl's name attached to Nicki's it's so obvious what everybody is doing. They keep tagging Nicki in Ol girl interviews and these dumb ass unity post hoping that Nicki will come online talking slick then the narrative is Cardi is trying to unify female rap and Nicki is old and bitter and jealous and wants to keep the feud going.

@Ericacellent it’s crazy how they acting like they have amnesia n forgot what that girl did to Nicki. She lied on Nicki multiple times, threw a shoe at her n tried to physically assault her. Nicki not wanting to have anything to do wit Cardi is on Cardi n NOT Nicki. Cardi fucked that up. Nicki wasn’t trying to have bad blood between them too. Cardi signed that deal wit Atlantic n let ppl get in her ear about Nicki. Nicki is good where she’s at n doesn’t need that type of negativity in her life.

I’ve been seeing that picture and people saying if Nicki wasn’t so petty, bitter, stupid etc she could of been apart of it and it’s so funny to me because they know the song is trash and they been trying everything from talking about the video to changing the beat on ole girls part to make it better.

The girl didn’t apologize first of all and even if she ever did, Nicki would have the right not to say anything or decline it like slickly did with Lil Nas. They kill me
