Remember in 2022 when I made that post about "The Crown Is Broken" and how exciting female rap was going to be with Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion all releasing albums in the same year? Yeah, well, that ended up being, as Nicki Minaj would say, a "dud."
Despite a couple of impressive feature verses by Cardi B, it is obvious she is paralyzed with fear at the thought of not living up to "Invasion Of Privacy." Nicki Minaj is preoccupied with self-sabotage and sabotaging others behind the scenes...allegedly, and Megan dropped an album, "Traumazine." But, the Tory Lanez trial was a cloud over her head.
Even if the "Big 3" drop projects this year, there is no guarantee they will be the voices of 2023 in female rap; with Latto solidifying herself as a contender, GloRilla coming out of nowhere and injecting new energy into the genre, and the slew of other girls who are ready to take the spotlight.
So, who would you choose if you could only pick 3 girls to dominate 2023? They do not have to be the girls mentioned.

Update: I think most of the girls will have a great year...except megan...I just don't know about her it's really make or break and I just don't see how she's gonna break the ice and come back on the scene after that case. So much misinformation was put out that many people still don't believe her.
-Retardi will do just fine with Atlantic making sure they get a return on their investment, she’s letting her singles from years ago rack up certifications so her album can go platinum the first week lol
-Ya’ll keep underestimating Nicki & the Barbz 2022 should have shown y’all that being that she was the only female rapper to go #1 & #2 on billboard, everybody swore SFG would free fall cuz the Barbz “mass buy but don’t stream” & it’s headed back to the top 20 next week & remains the highest charting single by a female rapper lol. Nicki, her team & the Barbz are gonna make sure she does big numbers pure sales, vinyls & streaming. I believe…

Cardi will drop but it won't live up to the hype
Nicki will drop but it'll be just a album..nothing special
Megan will have a rough year for music..she'll venture off into film
Monaleo will get more traction
Lola Brooke may breakthrough
Ice spice...lol
Doechii may breakthrough
Doja will drop and it'll be big
Latto might drop another album or get some big features.
